Trumpet Winsock 3.0 - Setup Overview

If you have the Trumpet Winsock installed, then run it, by double clicking on the Trumpet Winsock icon.

1. In the File Menu under Setup...
   • Check that you have PPP or SLIP selected
   • Enter your DNS and domain suffix.

2. In the File Menu under PPP Options...
   • Select either PAP or CHAP (or neither) and enter your username and password.

3. In the Dialler menu under Settings...
   • Select the Baud rate according to your modem (usually the next available option faster than your modem speed).
   • You may also like to set Automatic Login options here.

4. In the Dialler menu under Profile...
   • Enter your dial up phone number.
   • Enter your username and password (if you are not using PAP or CHAP).
   • Select Modem Settings - set the appropriate modem setup string.
   • Select Server Settings - Set your server settings to the prompts returned by your server. e.g., Username prompt = Login: If you are using PAP, then you should ensure that these are all blank.

You should now be able to attempt a login.
